Sometimes diarrhea occurs due to lack of food. Sometimes spicy food or fatty food can also cause diarrhea. Diarrhea can also occur due to bacterial or viral imbalance, digestive imbalance, and some antibiotic medicines.

Diarrhea is defined as loose stools three times a day or more. And, there may be a situation where you can't wait two or three days until the diarrhea is cured. In such a situation, dieticians have given some tips to get rid of diarrhea quickly.

1. Snack food
If you have diarrhea, you should eat soft drinks. After each loose stool, you should eat at least one cup of soft drink. Water, fruit juice, decaffeinated soda (Coke), and salty soup are good choices. Salt helps prevent body fluid loss while sugar helps the body absorb the salt.

2. Plain curd or mohi
Yogurt is a source of good bacteria, known as probiotics. It is useful for making healthy intestines. Because lactic acid can cause damage during diarrhea, it is generally advised not to eat dairy products in such cases, but curd and mohi are exceptions. If you eat a cup of Mohi or a small bowl of curd daily, it will help to recover the good bacteria that the body has mixed with diarrhea in the body.

3. White diet
Food known as white diet helps to cure diarrhea quickly. Bananas, rice, applesauce, and white toast help cure diarrhea quickly. The elements present in these foods help in the formation of stool. Oatmeal, boiled or burnt potatoes, skinless chicken, white fish, egg whites, soft tofu, paneer, and yogurt are also good to eat when you have diarrhea. These foods should be eaten when diarrhea is bad and other foods should be added as the stool becomes hard.

4. Foods not to be eaten
Do not eat foods that make diarrhea worse. Do not eat caffeinated products (coffee), alcohol, potato juice, dried fruits, sugar substitutes, fatty foods, fried foods, starchy foods, and spicy foods.

5. Paddy field
If you eat rice bran when you have diarrhea, you will not lose water in your body. Also, starch helps in reducing the duration of diarrhea as well as in stool formation. Mead can be made by mixing one cup of rice with two cups of water and boiling it for ten minutes. After the water turns white, it can be separated from the rice and eaten with a little salt or sugar.

Diarrhea usually heals in a few days even without medication. If the diarrhea does not get cured even after following the above methods, you should consult a doctor and take medicine and treat it.
